💡 For SEO, word count alone does not determine rankings — content quality, relevance and structure matter more. However, longer, well-structured content tends to earn more backlinks and rank for more keyword variations.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the word counter count words?Words are counted by splitting text on whitespace (spaces, tabs, newlines) and counting non-empty segments. "Hello, world!" counts as 2 words.
Does it count characters with or without spaces? Both. The tool shows character count with spaces (total characters) and without spaces (only letters, numbers and punctuation).
How are sentences counted?Sentences are identified by sentence-ending punctuation: full stops, exclamation marks and question marks. Multiple punctuation marks (e.g. "!!!") count as one sentence end.
Is there a text length limit? No — paste any amount of text. The counter works in real-time regardless of text length.
